Fascinate- Gates

edge

Mark 9:15 (NIV) As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

Psalm 24:1-10 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. Selah Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory. Selah

Tone of Psalms 24
1- The Nature, Strength, & The awe of God-
“The Earth is the Lords” “Who may ascend?” How mighty he is, can anyone really connect with him”

2- The Righteous Can Approach him
Genesis 32:30
(NIV) So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, "It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared."

3- The righteous open gates
“Lift up your heads…all you gates”

4- The Result:
He comes in. With Glory, With Strength, Establishing his identity & authority.

The King of
GLORY.
2 Corinthians 2:18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

”When the veil of intimacy is lifted. The gate of dominion/authority is lifted.”

“When His Identity is Established so is his authority.”

Lifting the gate
1- Fixing our Gaze
Psalm 24:7 (NIV) 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
“The Gate is lifted when our gaze is set.”

Colossians 3:1-3 (NIV) Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

2- Faith filled praise.
The spirit Praise precedes the tangibility of victory.
“Victory belongs to those who know they are the Lords and who walk in a spirit of celebration.”

Psalm 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Isaiah 61:3
To provide for those who grieve in Zion-- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
