Getting off the Ground
Romans 8:29-37 (NLT) 29 God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. 31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
✈️ Physics of flight:
Getting off the Ground. 🛫
1. Resistance is certain.
Newtons 3rd Law of Motion . For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
“Our accomplishment of flight is indicative of something profound, beyond the normal order of nature.”- The Write Brothers
2. We were (re)built for flight
John 3:3-7 (NLT) 3 “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” 4 “What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” 5 Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. 6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. 7 So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’
Because we are born of spirit we have a new nature.
We hear and understand- Matthew 13:16
We bear the fruit of the spirit- Galatians 5:22-23
We war in the spirit(with spiritual weaponry)- Ephesians 6:12-18
We have the gifts of the Spirit- 1 Corinthians 12:8–10
We are spiritually minded- Romans 8:6
We are led by the Spirit- Romans 8:14
3. Trust the Engineer.
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NLT) 28 Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. 29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. 30 Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. 31 But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
