Rooted in Christ

Slide option2
Psalm 92:12-15 (NIV) 12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, 15 proclaiming, "The LORD is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
🇱🇧 Lebanese Cedars…
1. Majestic
2. Evergreen
3. Resistant & repellent of pest
4. Longevity of life
5. Useful
6. Fragrant
“We only flourish naturally if we are rooted deeply!”

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT) 7 “Blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. 8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

ROOTS…
1- Roots provide structure.
“We will only grow as tall as we are deep.”
“If you won’t grow in depth you won’t be able to handle height.”

2- Roots give us access to nourishment
Mark 4:6 (NLT) The plant soon wilted under the hot sun, and since it didn’t have deep roots, it died.

3- Roots give us the capacity to bear fruit.
John 15:16 (NIV) I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit-fruit that will last. (Fruit that remains)

ROOTED IN CHRIST
Psalm 1:1-3 (NIV) 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
1. Being mindful of Jesus.
The way for a Old Covenant person of God was the law.
The Way for a New Covenant follower is Christ.
“Our delight is in Jesus & on Jesus we meditate day & night.”

2. Being faithful to Jesus.
Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) 6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
