Royalty- Rich in Grace

edge

Romans 8:15 (NLT) So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”

Poverty-We cant talk about wealth without talking about poverty…
Money is an indicator.
Matthew 6:21 (NIV) For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Functions of a poverty mindset
1-Financial Greed
In the kingdom wealth is measured by our generosity.
2-Worry/Anxiety fear
“The poverty mindset reacts in fear of lack & always cautious of self preservation”
3-Selfishness with time
“The problem with the rat race is that even if you win you are still a rat.” -Lily Thompson
4- When we allow situations to dictate our behavior
Matthew 12:35 (NIV) The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

We are Rich in Grace.

Ephesians 1:3-9 (NLT) 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. 9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious plan regarding Christ, a plan to fulfill his own good pleasure.

Walking in the wealth of Grace:
1. Live from a point of reference
2 Corinthians 8:9 (NLT) You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.
“You can afford it!”
WE ARE CHRIST AMBASSADORS!(2 Cor 5:20)
2. Slow Down
3. Look around

4. Over-Deliver
Ephesians 2:8-10 (NIV) 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
John 1:16 (ESV) From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.

5.Remember this is worship

Romans 12:1 (NIV) I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)
1 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. 2 Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Royalty- Influence

Leadership-
“Leadership is influence nothing more nothing less” -John Maxwell
1 Corinthians 11:1 (NIV) Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

Matthew 20:20-28 (NLT)
20 The mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to Jesus with her sons. She knelt respectfully to ask a favor. 21 “What is your request?” he asked. She replied, “In your Kingdom, please let my two sons sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left.” 22 But Jesus answered by saying to them, “You don’t know what you are asking! Are you able to drink from the bitter cup of suffering I am about to drink?” “Oh yes,” they replied, “we are able!” 23 Jesus told them, “You will indeed drink from my bitter cup. But I have no right to say who will sit on my right or my left. My Father has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen.” 24 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. 25 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Imitate his attitude.
Philippians 2:1-4 (NIV) 1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus….

Romans 12:3 (NIV)
Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less”
-CS Lewis

“We don't promote ourselves…We focus on exalting God and trust his promotion process.”

James 4:6 (NIV
)"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Imitate his leadership by serving
“In the kingdom leadership isn't about climbing to the top but serving our way to the bottom.”
Philippians 2:6-8 (NIV) 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!

“In the kingdom we rule like servants and we serve like kings.” -Bill Johnson
“If serving is below you leadership is beyond you.” -anonymous
