”6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
If we raise lukewarm kids, then we will get lukewarm adults. We cannot be just “in the moment” Christians. It has to be a generational effort. Mark 10:14-16
”When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
Indignant- Feeling or showing anger or annoyance at what is perceived as unfair treatment. “83% of Christians make their first commitment to Jesus between the ages of 4 and 14” -International Bible Society
Children are hungriest for answers, and that makes Children hungriest for God.
Psalms 127:3-5 “3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”
Children are a weapon for the kingdom. Deuteronomy 6:6-7: "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
This isn’t about us, it is about our children, their eternal life in Heaven, and the lives of those who our descendants can impact.
